What you make with the tools: free for commercial use

Everything you create with the tools on this site, such as normal maps, height maps, PBR texture sets, packed channel maps, seamless textures, sprite sheets, RAW heightmaps and any other download (“your output”), is yours to use for any purpose, including commercial use, royalty-free and worldwide. You may use it in games, films, 3D scenes, apps and client work, and you may sell it, on its own or as part of an asset pack or a product. No attribution or credit is required.

The pictures you load stay on your device and are processed there; we do not receive them and claim no rights in them. You need the right to use a picture before you turn it into textures, and the result keeps any rights that others hold in the original picture.

Two limits: material by third parties that is listed on the credits page keeps its own licence; and you may not copy, resell, mirror or repackage the site itself, its code, its tools or its design as a competing tool or service, or use automated tools to copy the site in bulk or to overload it.

No warranty

We test the tools against independently calculated results, but mistakes can happen; check a map in your own engine or renderer before you rely on it, especially before a release. The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Content and licences

The site’s design, text and code are © Normalforge. The open-source libraries the tools use are listed with their licences on the credits page, and those licences apply to them.

Advertising and third-party services

The site may show advertising and may use visit statistics. These are described in the privacy policy. We are not responsible for the content of other websites we link to.

Changes and contact

We may update the site and these terms at any time; the date below the title shows the latest change. Questions: support@normalforge.com. Nothing in these terms limits the consumer rights you have under the law of your own country.
